Lived experience with trauma, grief, pain and loss
I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported, particularly during life's more challenging moments. My approach to counselling is grounded in compassion, genuine connection, and a belief in each person's capacity for growth and meaningful change.
My counselling philosophy is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Having navigated personal experiences of physical and emotional pain, trauma, loss, and grief, I understand how deeply life's challenges can affect us, sometimes in ways that are difficult to express or make sense of.
These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassion, patience, and genuine understanding. They have also taught me that healing is rarely about finding quick solutions, but about having the space and support to explore our experiences, develop greater self-awareness, and find ways forward that feel meaningful.
While my lived experience informs my empathy, our work together is always focused on you - your story, your needs, and your pace. I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges without pressure or expectation.
I believe that each person possesses unique strengths, values, and the capacity for resilience. My role is to work alongside you, helping you gain insight, navigate life's complexities, and discover ways forward that align with what matters most to you.
With a Master of Counselling, I draw on evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centred Therapy. I also take a holistic perspective, recognising the connection between emotional, psychological, and overall wellbeing. This allows me to tailor counselling to your individual circumstances, preferences, and goals.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions, or challenges with self-esteem, I provide a supportive space where you can explore your experiences and work towards meaningful change.
Above all, I value building a genuine counselling relationship based on trust, empathy, respect, and authenticity. My practice is inclusive and welcoming of people from all walks of life.
